Local. Replicable. Scalable.

We believe local child protection leaders are best equipped to address issues of Sexual Violence Against Children (SVAC) in their communities.

With that in mind, our model is centered around establishing Community Action Teams (CATs) in each community we work in.

CATs are multidisciplinary teams consisting of local police officers, probation & social welfare officers, social workers, prosecutors, and medical and emotional health care providers who work together to prevent SVAC and develop effective, coordinated strategies for responding to cases in their communities.

THE GOAL

The goal of each CAT is to fight SVAC in their communities while providing survivors with the following core services:

Safe Shelter & Resettlement

Child-Friendly Police Interviews

Medical Exams & Health Care

Emotional Care

Case Review & Management

Legal Support

Replicable

Our model is designed to be easily replicated in any sub-county or district in Uganda.

The key to our replicability lies in our approach, as we collaborate closely with key government leaders and stakeholders that exist in every district or sub-county in the country.

Scalable

A scalable and adaptable approach for responding to SVAC.

Because Community Action Teams (CATs) are easily replicated from one community to the next, our model is extremely scalable. It’s just a matter of time before CATs are established in every district in Uganda.
