March 2025 marks Rescue One More’s fourth anniversary—a milestone worth celebrating!

As we reflect on these transformative years, we’re filled with gratitude for God’s faithful provision and your unwavering support. Together, we’ve seen some incredible progress, including:

  • Five Community Action Teams (CATs) serving vulnerable communities
  • Two safe houses providing a safe and loving refuge for healing
  • A Community-Based Care program providing critical services to hundreds of children in their homes

The numbers below are further testament to the effectiveness of our programs these last four years:

While our caseload has grown exponentially since we began, we’re now witnessing breakthrough results in the courts, despite the challenging 4-6 year backlog.

March brought several significant courtroom victories, including a 12-year prison sentence for a perpetrator who assaulted three young girls (ages 8-10) during a sleepover. This case represents the justice we fight for every day.

The Story Behind the Victory

What began as an innocent sleepover turned into a grim nightmare when a trusted neighbor entered the unlocked home and assaulted all three children. Showing remarkable courage, the girls reported the crime, setting the chain of justice in motion.

Our team immediately mobilized to facilitate:

  • Child-friendly police interviews
  • The crime scene investigation
  • Evidence collection
  • The arrest of the perpetrator

The two sisters—whose parents are deaf and rely on street begging for income—found safety at our Kampala safe house. Their friend remained with her mother under enhanced security measures implemented by our CAT.

Throughout the process, all children and their families received comprehensive counseling while our team prepared their case for court.

Their hard work paid off when the high court heard their case and convicted the defendant to 12 years behind bars.

For these young survivors, justice represents:

  • The security of knowing they’re safe
  • The validation of being believed
  • The promise that healing and restoration are possible

For the community, it means greater safety with a known predator behind bars.

As we celebrate our fourth anniversary and this important victory, we remain steadfast in our mission to rescue and restore children who have experienced sexual violence.

With your continued partnership, we can reach more vulnerable children, offering not just immediate intervention but the comprehensive, long-term care they need to rebuild their lives.

We’re deeply grateful to our team, our supporters, and our partners who make this work possible. This is only the beginning of the journey.

Onward and upward,
